York Chan, CHFM, CHC, SASHE has amassed 35 years of progressive management experience in health facilities operations. Presently, he is the administrator of facilities for Advocate Health Care, overseeing facilities operations for the system of 12 acute care hospitals in Illinois. He served as a board member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) from 2008 through 2012. York is a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager as well as a Certified Healthcare Constructor. York has served as faculty for the Joint Commission Resources and taught the "Environment of Care Base Camp" and “Exploring the Life Safety Chapter” programs. He has also conducted custom education sessions for the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and numerous health care organizations throughout the United States. He has also served as faculty for the Joint Commission Satellite Network (JCSN) and the Joint Commission Resources Quality and Safety Network teaching internet, satellite, and web-based environment of care programs.

Gordon D. Burrill, P.Eng., FASHE, CHFM, CHC

Teegor Consulting Inc.

Gordon D. Burrill, P.Eng., CCHFM, FASHE, CHFM, CHC, spent 13 years as a design engineer, followed by seven years as the director of the engineering for New Brunswick Health Authority in Canada before beginning work at Teegor Consulting Inc. in August 2004. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of health care facilities. He has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Building and Plumbing
Systenms to the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes; is a member of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering; a member of the National Fire Protection Association’s Health Care Section; a member of two technical committees and the correlating committee for NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code; a former Council Member of the International Federation for Hospital Engineers; and former president of the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society. Gordon is currently the chair of the Canadian Standards Association’s Technical Committee for Health Care Facility Engineering and Physical Plant; chair of their Technical Subcommittee for Infection Control during Construction, Renovation, or Maintenance of Health Care Facilities; chair of their Technical Subcommittee for Medical Gas Pipeline Systems and vice-chair of their Technical Subcommittee for Design and Construction of Canadian Healthcare Facilities.
